REPORT ON FIRST AID BOX
First Aid Box is the immediate and temporary care given to the victim of an accident or sudden illness.
Its purpose is to preserve life, assist recovery and prevent aggravation of the condition until the services of the doctor can be obtained or during transport to the hospital or the causality home. The importance of the first aid is very well evident from the first aid box that is usually seen in buses, trains, platforms, cinema halls, restaurants and hotels, schools and colleges and almost in all public places and homes of the sensible citizens of the country. A first aid box is mandatory everywhere.
The Rotaract team lead by President Mr. Swarandeep Singh arranged a first aid box for our college. All the students of degree1(2014-17) contributed Rs. 5 for the same. The essential medicines, bandages of different size for covering wounds are then purchased. A roll of cloth backed and micro pore tape, tabular gauze bandages for finger injuries and applicator tongs, blunt ended scissors for cutting the bandage of plaster, cotton wool for cleaning cuts and gauzes, crepe bandage for sprains and for ankles, antiseptic lotion to use with the cotton wooland antiseptic wipes, aspirin, paracetamol, painkillers, pudinhara which are then sealed in foil to longer life etc. were handed over to the Asst. Co-Ordinator of the department Prof. Pushpa Tewari on 22nd February, 2015.
The aid box is now very much in use and the department appreciates the initiative taken by the Rotaractors of the college.
