A National Seminar was organised on ’’Issues and Challenges of National Integeration since Independence’’ in the month of 29th March, 2014 by the Dept. of History, Guru Nanak College, Dhanbad.
The seminar was a huge success in the sense that scholars and intellectuals from various fields came as resource persons presented their views and papers and made an impact on the students and the participants.
The seminar was inaugurated by Prof. Amalendu Sinha, Director, Central Institute of Mining and Fuel Research, Dhanbad. Dr. Y.D. Prasad, Former Head, Department of History and former Director A.N. Sinha Institute, Patna, a distinguished scholar in this part of the country, presented the key note address, and set the tone of the seminar. Dr. I.C. Kumar, I.A.S(Retd.), Former Secretary, Govt. of India, a celeberated social scientist who has authored many books on such social issues and famous for his intellectual leanings, joined the seminar as a resource person. Prof. B.B. Kumar, a social scientist and Professor from Kohima University, Nagaland made his presence felt by his intellectual presentation as a resource person.
The seminar ended on a very high note after churning of ideas by the intellectual giants present in the seminar. Dr. Ranjana Das, a teacher in the Dept. of History, was the organising secretary.
A National Seminar was organised on “Women Society and State : A Historical Perspective” in the month of 31st July and 1st August, 2015 in the college. The seminar was sponsored by the U.G.C.
There was meaningful dialogue on the subject “Women Society and State : A Historical Perspective” by the scholars and professors who participated in the seminar as resource persons and delegates. The subject was studied in detail and in historical perspective. Divergent issues were presented on the subject and finally the seminar came up with a resolution that both the society and state have contributed to the well being of the women, to uphold their dignity and to ensure place of respect in the society.
Dr. Pramodanand Das, Professor and Head, Department of History, Patna University was the key note presenter. The other distinguished scholars were Dr. Sushil Rajgariya, Head Dept. of Political Science, St. Xavier's College, Ranchi and Dr. Minu Charan, Associate Professor and Head Dept. of History, J.N. College, Dhurva, Ranchi.
On 26th July, 2016, a seminar volume consisting of various papers presented by the scholars was published and released in a simple ceremony by Sardar R.S. Chahal. The seminar volume was edited by Dr. Ranjana Das.
A National Seminar was organised on “Matribhasaha, Shiksha aur Vikash” by the I.Q.A.C. of the college on 19th Dec. 2015.
The issue was of serious concern and the I.Q.A.C. of the college felt that effective medium of imparting education and training to the students could be delivered better in the mother language. With this perspective in mind it was decided by the IQAC that a seminar on the above subject should be held by inviting scholars and intellectuals of various languages and regions. The seminar was a great success as there were distinguished experts from such languages as Tamil, Marathi, Punjabi, Koshali, Bengali, Kurukh, Nagpuria, Maithili and some other languages. Distinguished scholars participated in the seminar as resource persons and delegates from various parts of the country.
Among the resource persons those who participated were:
(i) DR. Joga Singh, Former Head Dept. of Linguistics & Punjabi Lexicography Punjabi University, Patiala who was the key note presenter.
(ii) Prof. Anuj Lugun --- Dept. of Oriental Studies, Central University of Bihar, Bodh Gaya.
(iii) Dr. Rajesh Kumar --- Head P.G. English, Vinoba Bhave University, Hazaribag.
(iv) Dr. Girdhari Ram Ganju --- Dept. of Tribal Studies, Ranchi University, Ranchi.
(v) Dr. Golok Banerjee --- P.G. Dept. of Bengali, P.K.R.M. College, Dhanbad.
(vi) Sri. Aazhi Senthil Nathan --- Linguist from Chennai.
(vii) Dr. Saket Sahu --- Koshali language activist, Odissa.
(viii) Dr. Dipak Pawar from the University of Mumbai and many other language experts from Bihar and Jharkhand were present.
The Seminar was idea packed and after churning of ideas mostly people were unanimous that it would be in the national interest that dissemination of information and teachings of skills could be delivered better, if the medium of teaching in higher education could be mother language.

A seminar was organized on the topic “Ecological Imbalance: A challenge for Human Race” on 28th Sep. 2016 in the Multipurpose Hall.
Many of the distinguished scholars came and participated in the deliberations as resource persons and delegates. Dr. A.S. Ahluwalia, Head Dept. of Life Sciences, Panjab University, Chandigarh presented a thought provoking key note address, which set the tone of the entire seminar. Dr. Bhiswaroop Mukherjee, Prof. of Botany, Ranchi University, Ranchi and distinguished scholar was another expert transcend a resource Person on environmental issues. He presided over the 1st academic session. Sri Dinesh Kumar Mishra a celebrated columnist and a noted environmentalist was another distinguished resource person, who enlightened the audience with an inspiring presentation.
There was participation from all the local colleges and many teachers from the Vinoba Bhave University, Hazaribag.

A U.G.C. sponsored national seminar on “Challenges and Opportunities in Higher Education in the 21st Century” was organized on 11th and 12th October, 2017.
The seminar was inaugurated by Prof. Ramesh Sharan, Vice Chancellor, Vinoba Bhave University, Hazaribag, a distinguished scholar himself, Sri P.N. Singh, M.P. Dhanbad also addressed the seminar on this issue during the inaugural session. Dr. Subhash Brambhaat, Principal, H.K. Arts College, Ahmedabad and President, Association of Indian College Principals, presented the key note address in a very learned manner.
Among the resource persons those who participated were:
(i) Dr. G. Ramchandran --- Former Principal, Kandivali College, Mumbai.
(ii) Dr. Kirti Diddi --- Principal, Nirmala College, Ujjain.
(iii) Dr. A.I. Khan --- Principal, Giridih College, Giridih.
The valedictory address was made by Prof. M.P. Sinha, Vice Chancellor, Siddho Kanhu Murmu University, Dumka. Sri Raj Sinha, M.L.A., Dhanbad also made an address during the valedictory session.

A National Seminar on the topic “Imagining The World: Literature, Philosphy, Myth and Reality” on 27th and 28th July, 2019 was organized by the Dept. of English.
The seminar was inaugurated by Dr. A.K. Srivastva Vice Chancellor of B.B.M.K. University, Dhanbad. The other distinguished guest present during the inaugural session were Sri Raj Sinha, M.L.A., Dhanbad.
Prof. Ravi Nandan Sinha, Professor and Former Head Dept. of English, St. Xavier’s College, Ranchi, a distinguished scholar of English literature and also the editor of a popular literary journal ‘’The Quest” for the last over 30 years, presented the Key Note address in a very extensive manner.
The seminar was conducted in as many as 4 academic sessions followed by a panel discussion of resource persons of the subject. Dr. Rajesh Kumar, Head Dept. of English, Vinoba Bhave University, Hazaribag, Dr. Shreya Bhattacharya, Head Dept. of English, Central University, Jharkhand, Dr. R.K. Singh, Former Professor and Head Dept. of Humanities and Social Sciences, IIT, ISM, Dhanbad and Dr. Rajini Singh, Head Dept. of Humanities and Social Sciences, IIT, ISM, Dhanbad were presnt during the 2 day seminar and participated in the delebertions by offering their inputs as paper presenter and presiding officers of different academic sessions. As many as 42 teachers and scholars of English literature participated in the different academic sessions by presenting their papers and were from Nagaland, Bihar, Sikkim, West Bengal, Delhi, Uttarakhand, which made the seminar very meaningful in content. The latest trends were discussed threadbare and the seminar was able to make a huge impact on the students and scholars.
The valedictory session was addressed by the local M.P. Sri. P.N. Singh, which was also addressed by the Prof. V.C., B.B.M.K. University, Dhanbad Dr. A.K. Mahto.
