The Department of History is a place of learning where students, scholars, and thinkers gather to debate and share their knowledge of history. We teach the students how to parse the detritus of the past in archives, literature, art, architecture, and other material remains. This is carried out through formal course work, research guidance, seminars, workshops, interactive class discussions, assignment work, and semester examinations.

The Department of History has organized several National Seminars, which have been interdisciplinary in nature, on topics like Issues and Challenges of national Integration since Independence, Women Society and state: A Historical Perspective, Ecological Imbalance: A challenge for Human Race, and Challenges and opportunities in Higher Education in the 21st Century.

The Department of History also organizes Guest Lectures from time-to-time with eminent personalities. It is equipped with the ICT enabled mode of teaching that helps the teachers to explain complex instructions and ensures students comprehension.

The Department also conducts Student Satisfaction Surveys (SSS) on a regular basis to get feedback from the students and use it to understand the learning objectives of the students and choose the best strategy for the task. We also organize PTM to have direct interaction with the parents for better coordination.

The Department of History also provides the facility of a Library that comprisesof quality books and journals along with Wi-Fi Internet. We have tied up with INFLIBNET to provide over 6 lakh books for the students.
