An online lecture was organized by the Department of History on 12th April 2022. Professor Tabir Kalam, Department of History, Faculty of Social Sciences, Banaras Hindu University, was the main speaker of the event.
The event started with an Introduction about the topic by Dr. Ranjana Das, HOD Department of History. Post that, a Welcome Speech was given by Dr. Sanjay Prasad, Principal Gurunanak College Dhanbad.
Professor Kalam gave an insightful lecture on the topic “Aspects of medieval indian history: Some glimpses”
He underlined the significance of the mediaeval era for the advancement of art, language, culture, and religion in India. By highlighting the writings of other historians on the history of Medieval India, he also provided insights on the effects of other religions on Indian culture.
The session was compered by Dr.Varsha Singh and A Vote of thanks was Proposed by prof. Abhishek sinha.
The lecture was attended by 130 students and Faculty members of the College.
