REPORT ON NEPAL EARTHQUAKE RELIEF CAMPAIGN
On the disastrous morning of 25th April 2015, Nepal was struck by two massive earthquakes of high magnitude that caused the widespread loss of life, injuries and destruction.
Thankfully several direct reliefs responded as fast as possible to help survivors and overcome the enormous challenges that existed. On 12th May 2015, the Rotaract Club of Guru Nanak College, Dhanbad organized a seminar on environmental hygiene in which several presentations were made by the students of BCA Department. The presentations addressed the issues and solutions regarding the safety practices to keep environment healthy.
After the seminar the Rotaractors called for donations by distributing coupons among the delegates and participants and managed to collect Rs. 2,500 for the cause. The money was made into a draft and later on 17th May 2015, the draft was handed over to the Deputy Commissioner of Dhanbad, Mr. Kripa Nand Jha, IAS.
The money was deposited in Prime Minister’s Relief Fund to help the survivors.
