N.S.S. units - 1 & 2 of Guru Nanak College, Dhanbad are organising a Webinar on the theme of Yoga @ home and Yoga with family on the occasion of International Day of Yoga observed today, on the 21st June 2020.
Altogether Sixty two (62 ) participants including students, teachers and members of non teaching staff of our college participated in the Webinar with all enthusiasm.
The Webinar was hosted on google meet app.
It started at 7:00 AM and concluded at 7:45 AM.
Yogacharya Abhishek Bharti, founder of Arogya Yogshala, New Delhi, was the expert on the occasion. He is the founder cum facilitator of AROGYA YOGSHALA, registered with the Yoga Alliance, USA and Applied Yoga Training Center under Yoga Certification Board Accredited by Ministry Of AYUSH under Government Of India,
He has completed various Yoga Teacher Training Courses like RYT 200, RYT 500 and M.A Yoga and acquired an International Certification in Yoga and Naturopathy. He is also a E-RYT 200, RYT 500 & YACEP (Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider) registered with Yoga Alliance. He also had the opportunity to work with reputed institutions such as Indian Railways, Patanjali Yogpeeth Haridwar, BookMyYoga, Swami Parmanand Prakritik Chikitshalaya and present Treasurer of Yoga Shikshak Sangh.
Mr. Abhishek Bharti was live in the event. He talked on the Protocol Yoga and demonstrated the basics of yoga. His demonstration included details of Pranayama and its various types, Kapalbhati, Surya Namaskar, Padmasana etc. He talked on the importance and benefits of these asanas. In his address to the students, he emphasised upon practicing Yoga daily at home so as to boost up their immunity, especially during the pandemic period of Covid -19.
He also talked about Naturopathy. He advised all participants, especially students, as how and why they should avoid junk food habits and live healthy.
On this occasion, Prof. P. Shekhar, the Principal of Guru Nanak College, Dhanbad said that the outbreak of Covid-19 has shaken the entire world of its threat. Post-Covid life is full of challenges and at this point, Yoga proves to be a boon to human beings. Yoga is a lifestyle, it should be embraced if one intends to live 'hale and hearty'.
Mr. Akash Chatterjee, a motivational speaker from Kolkata, also shared his views and talked as how daily practice of Yoga, works for mental and physical development of oneself.
Dr. Sanjay Prasad, Prof. in charge of Bhuda Campus of the College, also addressed the students and emphasised upon the practices of Yoga at home and along with family.
Prof. Dipak Kumar, Program officer(1), N.S.S, introduced the event and gave a Welcome speech and Dr. Mina Malkhandi, Program officer(2), N.S.S, offered Vote of thanks.
